Prof. Dr. Ernst R. von Schwarz is an internationally recognized physician, cardiologist, advanced heart-failure and transplant cardiologist, interventional cardiologist, theologian, and bioethicist with over 25 years of clinical and academic excellence.

Trained at the University of Vienna and Philipps University of Marburg with dual medical doctorates, he completed a research fellowship at the Max-Planck-Institute and multiple fellowships in internal medicine and cardiology. He also holds a PhD in Roman Catholic Theology.
